Tomorrow, September 17th, I will become an employee of Acumatica, filling the ERP Solutions Consultant position in the Columbus, OH office.

Acumatica has been a fun side project / hobby for me since April 30th, 2013. But I’m happy that I will now be working with it full-time. Of course, I’m also happy that I will now be getting paid too 
Am I Excited?
Yes, I’m excited.
But, I also realize that this is going to be a long road. It’s time to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
Everyone knows that Acumatica has the best technology platform by far in the midmarket ERP space, but most midmarket ERP buyers haven’t even heard of Acumatica yet. Sage and Microsoft Dynamics still dominate the space.
There is a lot of work to be done if Acumatica is going to become the dominant player in midmarket ERP.
I believe that it can, and I will be doing my part to chip away at that goal a little bit every day.
What about this Blog?
At this point, I do plan to continue the blog. However, I realize that things might be very different once I’m on the inside of the Acumatica organization. I might not have the freedom to continue blogging without someone looking over my shoulder.
I would only like to continue this blog if I can do so with an independent perspective. So I would like to take a little time off to determine if that will be possible.
And, yes, I would still like to focus on reporting in Acumatica, especially now that Power BI has officially launched and we know the details about what it looks like.
Taking a break
It will take a little while to figure out if the blog can continue once I am an Acumatica employee. Also, it will take a while to get settled into my new job with my new responsibilities. Because of this, I will be taking a break from the blog for the rest of this month and all of October.
In November, I’ll sit down and decide if I can continue with an independent perspective and, if so, how exactly to continue. For example, I would like to do more “how to” posts using PowerBI.com with step by step examples of building reports for actual business situations. But, I’m still not positive if that is the right direction to take.
